Government Programs

Second Career

The hospitality industry is booming! It’s the right choice for anyone looking for a new and profitable full-time career to make a switch.

If you were laid-off after January 1, 2005, and are currently unemployed, or underemployed, you may be eligible for Second Career funding from the Ontario Government.

  • No grade 12 is required

Scholarships

A.C.T (Access College Training) Liaison College Academic scholarship program

Aimed at young students, this scholarship offers up to $5,000 in tuition fee credit at Liaison College, plus job placement assistance, lifetime refresher courses, and an invitation to the Recipient’s Dinner. Download and fill in this form to apply for the scholarship. More information is available in the pdf file. At our discretion, we may also offer a tuition fee credit to Cook Basic – Level I Diploma Program students who pass with Honours and wish to move to the Cook Advanced – Level II Diploma Program.

Mercer Tool Award

This annual cash award of $250 cash is offered to a Liaison College graduate from the Cook Basic – Level I Diploma Program or the Cook Advanced – Level II Diploma Program at one of our campuses. More information is available in this downloadable pdf.

US Pear Scholarship

Pear funds were donated as thanks for the help, support and assistance Liaison College provided during the student Culinary Chef contest held in Winter 2007. The amount of the scholarship is $250 cash. This is an annual award, and the terms of the scholarship and application form can be found in the application package. Deadline is December 31st of each year.

Wiley Student Award

Wiley graciously awards up to $200 annually, in texts, to each campus to award as prizes to graduates.

Women In Food Industry Management

Women in Food Industry Management offer a $250 annual CASH scholarship to a female graduate from the Cook Basic – Level I Diploma Program or the Cook Advanced – Level II Diploma Program.
