Liaison College wants you to succeed. We are passionate about the food industry and understand how excited you are to begin a career in the field of hospitality. Financing your training is something we think about.
We understand that financing is an issue, so we work hard to find you funding with workshops to walk you through applying for government funding, scholarships and Travellers . We have a solution. Guaranteed! Here are just a few options you may consider.
Government Programs
Second Career
The hospitality industry is booming! It’s the right choice for anyone looking for a new and profitable full-time career to make a switch.
If you were laid-off after January 1, 2005, and are currently unemployed, or underemployed, you may be eligible for Second Career funding from the Ontario Government.
- No grade 12 is required
Scholarships
A.C.T (Access College Training) Liaison College Academic scholarship program
Aimed at young students, this scholarship offers up to $5,000 in tuition fee credit at Liaison College, plus job placement assistance, lifetime refresher courses, and an invitation to the Recipient’s Dinner. Download and fill in this form to apply for the scholarship. More information is available in the pdf file. At our discretion, we may also offer a tuition fee credit to Cook Basic – Level I Diploma Program students who pass with Honours and wish to move to the Cook Advanced – Level II Diploma Program.
Mercer Tool Award
This annual cash award of $250 cash is offered to a Liaison College graduate from the Cook Basic – Level I Diploma Program or the Cook Advanced – Level II Diploma Program at one of our campuses. More information is available in this downloadable pdf.
US Pear Scholarship
Pear funds were donated as thanks for the help, support and assistance Liaison College provided during the student Culinary Chef contest held in Winter 2007. The amount of the scholarship is $250 cash. This is an annual award, and the terms of the scholarship and application form can be found in the application package. Deadline is December 31st of each year.
Wiley Student Award
Wiley graciously awards up to $200 annually, in texts, to each campus to award as prizes to graduates.
Women In Food Industry Management
Women in Food Industry Management offer a $250 annual CASH scholarship to a female graduate from the Cook Basic – Level I Diploma Program or the Cook Advanced – Level II Diploma Program.
Travellers Acceptance Corporation
Thanks to a strategic partnership between Liaison College Culinary Arts and Travelers Acceptance Corporation there is expanded tuition financing options available to students attending Liaison College.
Alternative tuition financing is now available through College Admissions offices at the 11 Ontario campuses of Liaison College Culinary Arts. The Travelers tuition program provides our students with an ideal way to finance their tuition and living expenses until they launch their careers. Liaison College offers Culinary and Chef Diploma programs preparing graduates for careers as professionally trained Chefs and Cooks in the Hospitality Industry.
Liaison programs give graduates the training and experience they need to secure meaningful employment doing what they love! Partnering with Travelers provides a convenient and flexible solution for students who want to begin their training now. We help our students find jobs and this is just one more way to get them into that hot job market sooner!
Liaison College Culinary Arts is the largest trainer of cooks and chefs in the province of Ontario.
