Taste Local! Taste Fresh!
Join us for Taste Local!! Taste Fresh! on Sunday September 15th, 2013, 2-5 pm Steckle Heritage Farm, 811 Bleams, Kitchener, ON.
Taste Local! Taste Fresh! is an annual event that showcases food from local farms while raising funds for Foodlink Waterloo Region. The area’s finest chefs are partnered with local farmers to create exquisite new recipes featuring local foods and farm-fresh products.
Liaison College I Culinary Arts has been a participant and great supporter of Taste Local! Taste Fresh! since 2004.
With about 400 people expected to attend Taste Local! Taste Fresh! this year, Chef Elaina Ravo and Chef Dean Michielsen and their students will spend approximately two full days producing the recipe so that it can be assembled quickly and served during the event.
“Our students are very excited about this event, as it will give them an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned and show the community what they’re capable of,” she says. “For me, Taste Local! Taste Fresh! is very important. As a Culinary Chef College, we always support our community and its events. We also want the public to see – and taste! — the level of skills our students acquired during their program.”
A limited number of tickets for Taste Local! Taste Fresh! are still available and can be purchased online at www.foodlink.ca or by contacting the Foodlink office 519-513-8998.
