After deciding to make a career change, Karen was researching schools when she met Chef Elaina Ravo. One of the instructors and head chefs at Liaison College, Chef Elaina, made Karen feel welcome, inspired and helped to solidify her decision to attend Liaison. As one of her students, Karen found Chef Elaina not only passionate about her art but caring and nurturing as a mentor, being always available when her students needed her. Armed with the theoretical and practical training and the support of her instructors, Karen was able to find a job right after she completed her training.

Galja has always had a love for food and when the mom of three was looking for a second income, she saw the ad for Liaison College. After visiting the campus she was inspired by the energy and hands on approach. Working with Chef Dean Michelson, the real world experiences and learning material available taught Galja so much in a short period of time. Part of the learning experience was giving back to the community a valuable experience in many ways.

Both Karen and Galja feel the guidance and mentorship of Chef Elaina and Chef Dean have given them a great start in their culinary career. They continue to grow and learn in their positions at Langdon Hall in a way that wouldn’t be possible without the foundation built at Liaison College.
